The Eparchy of Palghat was erected in 1974, formed from parishes drawn from two neighboring eparchies to better serve a fast-growing Syro-Malabar community. What began as a small cluster of parishes has grown into a full diocesan family of clergy, religious, schools, and charitable institutions.
Today the diocese carries forward that founding mission: worship in the ancient East Syriac tradition, formation of clergy and laity, and service to the poor and marginalized.
